The first time I have hands on the team was almost 18 years ago or so. It was an Apple computer given by my uncle, who thought I might be interested in it. The computer had no hard drive, but with two 5 and a half inch disk drive. The colors were supported black and green. All I did with the computer is to play. Later my father bought a 80 286 system that comes with a DOS system menu. I'm particularly interested in gaming and since we had a DOS system, I started borrowing my friends games. The team was not considered fast because there were 80 486 in the market at that time. Thus, some of the games are compatible or not or too slow to play a system of 80286.

At that time, I discovered that memory is an important component to increase computer speed. Knowing it was impossible for me to buy additional RAM to add-on, I began searching for DOS utilities. There was a tool maker of memory that aims to increase the memory like having a virtual memory, but no significant improvement or should I say there was no improvement at all.

Later my father bought a Pentium 133 with Windows 95. "I can I upgrade to Windows 98. I went to study computer science in college and had another Celeron 300A system. I tried overclocking, but the system just hangs after 333MHz. An increase of 33 MHz did not improve much with the overall speed.

Click the Startup tab and contains a list of startup program on your computer. Therefore, one of the ways to improve your startup speed is to have fewer programs to start automatically with Windows.

Of course, you want your antivirus to start together, but apart from that, I think MSN, Skype and other similar tools greatly delay its onset. You might say that you always have to run MSN and Skype, but it is good practice to enable them at boot but deprives them automatically.

I like my system boot faster because people often may want to write some documents or play games without using other tools. Therefore, the shortcuts on the desktop is good enough for me because I can choose to start any programs after startup. After a fresh installation, the startup tab is usually white. Therefore, you are sure to unleash all the programs listed. If you find that your system does not work properly after that, you can always run the system setup and check all startup programs.

Windows Defender

This is a free spyware tool from Microsoft. Other than that, it is also a boot loader. Browse through the choice of tools, and there is a Software Explorer link. It works like a combination of boot loader and task manager. You can view currently running programs, network connected programs, winsock providers of services and startup programs. You can choose to remove, disable or enable the programs listed.

However, Windows Defender is available for Windows XP and Vista.

CCleaner

As time passes, your copy of Windows can run slower and slower. This is because the amount of software and games you have installed on your computer but not disposed of properly during uninstall. During a software or game, not just the files are installed in the specified folders, multiple records are also added in the Windows registry. Unfortunately, not all records in the registry always removed during uninstallation.

CCleaner is a piece of freeware that you can use to check broken links in the registry and, therefore, offers the option to remove the invalid registry entries. Many people are saying it is dangerous to change registry settings. In fact, it is dangerous. But I've been using this piece of freeware for some time and have not found any serious problems with it. However, I do notice some improvement in my system speed, especially during startup.

As I'm using Vista at the moment, I think the software does not work very well with Vista, because some of the options one in gray.

Iolo technologies System Mechanic is a piece of software that performs a better job than CCleaner. Well, of course, because it is free. If you can get a copy of System Mechanic, you will be amazed at how it is done and all the functions it has.
